Demencia Mortalis was founded in 2004, when Kuba Knotek aka Zelior
met Kuba Simral aka Charon. The originally trash-death metal band
started looking for a bass player and within few months,
another Kuba - Nosek joined the band. In the beginning of year 2006,
the band grew bigger - a violinist Vojta Nosek joined in,
Jarda Krobot came to play the second guitar, male (Milos Tollar aka headbanger)
and female (Monika Kafkova) vocalists came in February, and the process finally
stopped with Pavlina Krejzova and her keyboards.
After Jarda Krobot left for personal reasons,
Lukas "Comatt" Smetana became our second guitarist - and that's the current line-up.
The music this bunch of idiots started playing gradually evolved into "gothic" metal, although there's hardly anything gothic in it - no cathedrals, no kings, no castles :-).
We played a number of local shows and in few months,
Vladimir Zivny became our manager. His trust in our capability lead to
recording of our first demo in December 2006.
This five-track piece suffers from the things first demos
usually suffer from - 8 idiots in a studio, all beginners in this, did their best, but we didn't really get what we expected.
Anyway, the music we play is medium-paced metal with
live violin and "beauty and the beast" vocals - it is a compromise
between the musical tastes of all the band members,
with inspirations taken from doom and black metal music and rock music.

Eight-headed North-Bohemian Gothic Metal Orchestra, founded in early 2005 in Roudnice n.L., is getting ready to launch the debut self-release album entitled
"No God Is Here", this being a follow-up to the demo released in December 2006.
With influences from doom, black, symphonic and gothic metal music,
DM doesn't care about the genre purity much - we play for fun,
we play for our fans and for our beloved ones.
There are eight of us, with "beauty and the beast" vocals, violin, keyboards and some axes and a battery, and our musical tastes represent the elements you can find in our music - from romance to agony, from despair to extasy.
